Manager, Communications & Public Relations / Corporate Brand Manager - Chatters Limited Partnership (2005-2018)

Through the course of three different roles in the marketing department, I was able to impact many aspects of the business - from local and national store marketing, special corporate events, philanthropy, customer service, and social media, to special photographic, video and award projects. This is teamwork to the max, involving head office, store managers, district managers and franchise owners. I especially loved working with external agencies and organizations to create solid outcomes. Working with many external entities like manufacturers, media, national charities, and a plethora of service providers was a cherished and valued learning experience.

Marketing Manager-Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop (2009-2015)

In this role I helped launch a men’s brand and influence its growth across Canada. The best description of my work here is "adrenaline rush." Creating messages for and supporting barbershop store operations through many events and initiatives was exciting and interesting. My role included everything from local store marketing to national fundraising and seasonal promotions, to social media content development and reputation management. A key part of my role was promoting stores and helping them be successful from the first day open, to handling their marketing/communications needs for special events and sports or media partnerships.

Business Owner - Mindz Productions (2002-2005)

My business partner and I co-owned a multi-media design company. Our motto was to do that which we “could not do”. Our goal was to break all perceived boundaries with our skills & talents and create a brand-new success story for ourselves. It required us to leave full time secure jobs to pursue this goal. It took months of planning and risk and faith. We worked insanely hard and were given projects that stretched us yet provided incredible rewards. We did everything from print & design projects to websites, marketing strategies, social media, to interactive CD-ROMs and promotional executions. Mindz was a launching season within our careers. Both of us had already invested significant time into previous roles in the advertising industry. Mindz led us to our next destiny point in our careers.

Creative writer / Promotions / Creative Director (CKX / KX96, CKRM / Q92, CKRD / BIG 105, 106.7 Drive MB, SASK, AB)

Here I learned the best version of teamwork in an action-paced setting. I highly recommend anyone interested in advertising, and marketing spend some time working at a radio station. Here you learned how to have fun while spending your days on multitudes of deadlines. Be creative in a hurry! That was the order of the day. But truly this was also a very in-depth course in customer service. I learned account management, people management, creative discipline and interpersonal skills.
